About The Uganda Health & Business Expo
The Ugandan diaspora in the United Kingdom plays a pivotal role in the socio-economic development of Uganda, contributing significantly through remittances, investments, skills transfer, and philanthropic initiatives. However, the potential of this community remains largely underutilized due to the lack of structured engagement platforms.
Health remains a critical area of concern for Ugandans both in the UK and at home. The burden of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), mental health challenges, and limited access to quality care are compounded by gaps in health education and preventative practices within diaspora communities.
Similarly, Uganda’s private sector — especially MSMEs — struggles with limited access to global markets, investment capital, and business linkages. Meanwhile, diaspora investors are often constrained by lack of trusted platforms to explore investment opportunities in Uganda.
The Uganda Health and Business Expo – UK seeks to address these challenges through a multisectoral, inclusive, and collaborative event that brings together diaspora communities, government actors, private sector leaders, and development partners. It provides a holistic platform that merges health, investment, entrepreneurship, and cultural exchange under one roof.

Health as Wealth
A healthy diaspora is an empowered diaspora. Investing in health literacy and services is critical to enabling economic and social participation.
Trade Beyond Borders
Uganda's SMEs need visibility in international markets. Diaspora can act as a bridge to global value chains.
Diaspora Capital
Financial, social, and intellectual capital within the diaspora is a resource for sustainable development that must be tapped strategically.
